Currently, Ukraine is recognized as the most heavily mined country globally, with 30% of its territories contaminated by an estimated 2,000,000 landmines.
The Volia Fund has established a partnership with a Kyiv-based non-profit organization, "We Help Ukraine," which possesses extensive expertise in producing demining equipment. The Volia Fund finances the large-scale production of demining kits, which are crucial for clearing the Ukrainian land of hazardous materials.
Each kit comprises a dielectric probe for inspecting dangerous areas and a steel hook attached to a lengthy paracord for the safe discharging of landmines.
The production of basic demining equipment is considered one of the most cost-effective projects, wherein each dollar of your donation yields the maximum impact. Due to the tireless work of volunteers in Ukraine, it is possible to produce one demining kit for less than $10, which is approximately six times lower than the retail price.
In 2024, the Volia Fund partially financed the production of 2,500 basic demining kits for 2,500 mine clearance specialists in Ukraine. Funds have already been allocated to cover the complete production of 2,000 kits this year.
